Hyderabad's Commissioner's Task Force and Pahadishareef Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of vehicle thefts spanning multiple jurisdictions in the region.

The detained individuals have been identified as Mohd Akber, 35, a labourer based in Chintalmet, and Faizullah Khan, also known as Faiz, 42, a flower trader from Kishanbagh. A third suspect, Mohd Hameeduddin, known as Imran, 27, remains absconding.

Officers recovered three Bajaj auto-rickshaws and nine vehicle batteries from the accused, with the recovered items valued at approximately Rs 7 lakh.

Investigation revealed that both men are repeat offenders with prior involvement in vehicle battery thefts documented at Adibatla Police Station. The two reportedly became acquainted while imprisoned at Central Prison, Chanchalguda, and subsequently orchestrated a fresh series of crimes following their release.

The accused targeted multiple areas across the region, conducting auto thefts in Jadcherla, Mahabubnagar Rural, and Mahabubnagar Town. They also targeted parked DCM and tractor vehicles in Medchal, Tukkuguda, and Maheshwaram, stealing batteries from these vehicles.

Cases have been registered against the pair across Maheshwaram, Medchal, Pahadishareef, Jadcherla, and Mahabubnagar police stations. According to police records, Mohd Akber has been involved in three property offence cases, while Faizullah Khan's criminal history includes 15 such cases.

Acting on intelligence inputs, officers from the Shamshabad Zone Task Force and Pahadishareef Police apprehended both suspects and recovered the stolen property. Police operations continue in efforts to locate the third accused.

The operation was overseen by Inspector K. Venkat Reddy, with support from DI Debora, SIs K. Naga Raju and S. Seshu, along with additional personnel from both units.
