Mandal Surveyor in Jogulamba Gadwal Arrested in Anti-Corruption Sting Operation

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has apprehended Kammari Brahmaiah, a Mandal Surveyor stationed in Waddepally mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district, on charges of soliciting and accepting bribes in connection with official duties.
According to ACB investigators, Brahmaiah allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 from a complainant to facilitate a land survey concerning the complainant's parents' property. The surveyor had previously accepted Rs 5,000 as an advance payment on May 6, and subsequently received an additional Rs 10,000 as partial payment of the total bribe amount, the officials stated.
During the trap operation conducted by ACB personnel, authorities recovered the illicit funds from the accused's possession. Investigators allege that the surveyor carried out his official responsibilities in an improper and dishonest manner to secure unwarranted personal advantage.
Following his capture, Brahmaiah was taken into custody. The ACB indicated plans to present him before the First Additional Special Judge designated for Special Public Examination and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand proceedings.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with authorities maintaining confidentiality regarding the complainant's identity as a precautionary measure. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has also appealed to the public to report instances of bribery demands through its toll-free helpline number 1064.
