Telangana Channels Rs. 8,759.60 Crore in Farm Support to Over 70 Lakh Cultivators

The Telangana government has successfully transferred Rs. 8,759.60 crore in Rythu Bharosa assistance to the bank accounts of 70.40 lakh farmers for the current monsoon season, providing critical financial support for agricultural activities spanning 1.45 crore acres.

Investment Support for Kharif Farming

Under the Rythu Bharosa programme, each farmer has been allocated Rs. 6,000 per acre as investment assistance. The state government implemented direct bank transfers to ensure funds reached beneficiaries without intermediaries. This financial support is designed to help cultivators manage expenses during the Kharif season while mitigating the impact of escalating input costs.

District-wise Distribution

Nalgonda district emerged as the leading beneficiary of the scheme, with Rs. 716.86 crore credited to 5.35 lakh farmers. Khammam followed with Rs. 428 crore distributed among 3.42 lakh farmers, while Nagarkurnool received Rs. 423 crore for 3.08 lakh farmers. Sangareddy district secured Rs. 418 crore for 3.16 lakh farmers.

Medchal Malkajgiri district recorded the lowest allocation, with the government crediting Rs. 23.62 crore to approximately 25,000 farmers in the region.

The Rythu Bharosa initiative continues to serve as a key intervention supporting the agricultural sector across Telangana during the monsoon cultivation period.
