Revanth Reddy Defends Congress Governance, Criticizes BRS Legacy at Ande Sri Memorial Ceremony

Hyderabad: At the foundation stone ceremony for the Ande Sri Smriti Vanam, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy mounted a vigorous defence of his government's track record while levelling significant charges against the preceding Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) administration.

Revanth Reddy characterized the former regime as having compromised Telangana's self-respect, neglected jobless youth, and entrenched dynastic governance. He positioned his own administration as advancing the principles embodied by the celebrated poet Ande Sri, whose compositions played a pivotal role in galvanizing the Telangana statehood movement and mobilizing public sentiment.

The Chief Minister drew parallels between Ande Sri's unwavering principles and his government's approach, noting that the poet had steadfastly refused to compromise his integrity or seek validation from those wielding political authority. Ande Sri's body of work, Revanth Reddy emphasized, remained dedicated to the Telangana people and served to inspire successive generations through protest songs and revolutionary verses.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous administration had deliberately suppressed recognition of Ande Sri's iconic composition "Jaya Jayahe Telangana," but noted that the song now reverberates through schools and households throughout the state. He further referenced the contributions of late balladeer Gaddar, asserting that attempts to silence both artists had reinforced the determination to dismantle what he termed feudal governance structures in Telangana.

On employment and administration, Revanth Reddy accused the BRS government of releasing recruitment notices without fulfilling actual appointments. He attributed widespread unemployment among youth partly to examination irregularities that disrupted the hiring process. By contrast, he claimed his administration had streamlined bureaucratic procedures and successfully placed 70,000 individuals in government positions within twelve months.

The Chief Minister highlighted the ceremonial distribution of appointment letters at venues including LB Stadium and Shilpakala Vedika, where successful candidates received their documents in the presence of family members. He questioned why the prior government, despite its decade-long tenure, had failed to conclude recruitment cycles, while simultaneously charging former leaders with prioritizing personal wealth accumulation over public welfare and saddling the state with mounting fiscal obligations.

Revanth Reddy pledged that his government would fill every outstanding government vacancy and cautioned unemployed youth against accepting what he characterized as misleading opposition narratives.

The Chief Minister additionally outlined several administrative appointments and honours his government had facilitated. These included inducting Shankaramma, mother of Telangana freedom fighter Srikanta Chary, and Chakali Ailamma's granddaughter into the State Women's Commission. He announced that Professor M. Kodandaram had received nomination to the Legislative Council and that nine poets had been awarded individual cash prizes of ₹1 crore each.

Revanth Reddy reiterated that the Congress government remained committed to upholding Telangana's dignity and advancing citizen welfare. He expressed confidence that public backing would continue to strengthen the current administration and dismissed opposition criticism as baseless.
