Montra Electric Opens First West Bengal Dealership, Strengthens E-SCV Presence in Kolkata

Montra Electric, a full-spectrum electric commercial vehicle manufacturer operating across India, has opened its inaugural dealership in West Bengal. The facility, located in Howrah and operated in collaboration with Next Drive Mobility, was formally inaugurated to serve the region's last-mile delivery sector.

The opening ceremony brought together industry leaders, regional dealers, and fleet operators to showcase Montra Electric's EVIATOR e-SCV platform. The dealership serves as an integrated hub offering sales, service, and spare parts support aimed at keeping vehicles operational for local logistics providers.

The timing of the Kolkata launch reflects Montra Electric's accelerated growth trajectory. Since its introduction in January 2025, the EVIATOR 350L has secured more than 30% market share in the 3.5-tonne e-SCV category within FY25, establishing itself in just over a year. The company's national fleet has now surpassed 1,000 vehicles on the road.

The inauguration was jointly conducted by Saju Nair, CEO of e-SCV at Montra Electric; Saurabh Khetan, Dealer Principal at Next Drive Mobility; and investors Devansh Agarwal and Sudarshan Sarda.

Speaking about the expansion, Nair stated: "We are delighted to inaugurate our first Kolkata dealership today. This represents a pivotal step in expanding Montra Electric's presence nationwide. We enter this market with considerable momentum—our EVIATOR fleet has just surpassed 1,000 vehicles nationally, and the operational insights from these vehicles provide our Kolkata customers substantial confidence. West Bengal's commercial fleet continues to rely heavily on diesel compared to other regions, with electrification remaining limited to small commercial vehicles. This dealership is specifically designed to bridge that gap, beginning in Howrah. Through this partnership, we are committed to delivering premium sales and after-sales service while supporting the shift toward cleaner, smarter, and more efficient regional transport."

Khetan added: "We are pleased to collaborate with Montra Electric and bring the EVIATOR to Kolkata's expanding commercial sector. This launch comes at an opportune moment as regional fleet operators increasingly seek sustainable transport options. Kolkata and Howrah already demonstrate stronger EV adoption in small commercial vehicles than other parts of the state, validating our timing. With Montra Electric's robust product engineering and our customer-focused methodology, we aim to provide an exceptional ownership experience and contribute to the region's green mobility transition, progressively replacing diesel vehicles."

The EVIATOR range comprises three variants: the E350 with 32 kWh capacity, the E350L with 40 kWh capacity, and the E350L+ with 50 kWh capacity. Designed for intensive urban logistics operations, the platform accommodates a 1.7-tonne payload with a 10.3-foot loading deck, facilitating efficient city-level cargo transport.

The vehicle is equipped with a liquid-cooled Lithium Iron Phosphate battery system, delivering real-world range exceeding 200 kilometres and supporting CCS2 DC fast charging, which achieves 80% charge in roughly 60 minutes. Additional features include D+2 seating configuration, battery and vehicle warranty extending to seven years, flexible annual maintenance contract arrangements, and an operating cost of ₹2.35 per kilometre.

The Kolkata dealership represents part of Montra Electric's broader strategy to expand its network of dedicated e-SCV dealerships across the country. With over 1,000 vehicles generating real-world performance data, the company is positioning itself as a catalyst in transforming last-mile logistics through dependable, efficient, and emission-free mobility solutions.
