BRS Leader KTR Challenges Congress on Unfulfilled Telangana Youth Employment Pledges

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi's working president K.T. Rama Rao has launched a sharp critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the party's government in Telangana of reneging on its employment commitments to young people. Speaking at the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu held at Saroor Nagar Stadium on Friday, KTR warned that voters would ultimately demand accountability from the Congress for its broken pledges.

KTR drew attention to the Youth Declaration that Rahul Gandhi had presented at the same venue three years prior, pressing the Congress leadership to explain why these commitments remain unfulfilled. Among the key promises he highlighted were the provision of two lakh government positions within the initial year, implementation of a Job Calendar, and a monthly unemployment stipend of ₹4,000.

The BRS leader further raised questions about other assurances contained in the Youth Declaration, including provisions for electric scooters for female college students, interest-free lending schemes for youth, and various other welfare measures outlined in the declaration.

Beyond employment figures, KTR took aim at what he characterised as the Congress government's inaction regarding alleged police responses to youth protests demanding job implementation. He questioned why Rahul Gandhi had remained silent on reports of lathi charges, detentions, and legal proceedings initiated against job seekers advocating for the realisation of Congress's employment commitments.

Branding the Youth Declaration as fundamentally a "declaration of betrayal," KTR contended that Telangana's young people had effectively penned the Congress party's political epitaph through their disillusionment with its failure to generate employment. He levelled additional criticism at the state administration, characterising it as preoccupied with alleged misappropriation and corrupt practices rather than job creation.

KTR employed pointed language to describe the government's approach, asserting there were "no notifications, only lootifications." He further suggested that Telangana was experiencing a "scam calendar" rather than a functional governance framework. The BRS leader also targeted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, suggesting his priorities lay with Congress party leadership rather than addressing the state's employment crisis.

In a dramatic challenge to the Chief Minister, KTR demanded substantiation of claims that the government had successfully recruited 70,000 individuals through fresh government job notifications. He pledged to permanently exit political life should Revanth Reddy provide verifiable evidence supporting this assertion.
