Hyderabad Police Bust Major Drug Operations, Seize Hash Oil Worth Over Rs. 3 Crore

Hyderabad's law enforcement agencies have dismantled two major drug trafficking operations, recovering hash oil worth more than Rs. 3.12 crore and placing seven individuals under arrest.

The coordinated raids resulted in the seizure of illicit substances and the apprehension of five suspected traffickers and two drug consumers. Former Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, announced the operations on social media, emphasizing that they form part of the department's broader initiative to establish a drug-free city.

In the first raid, officers arrested two individuals from Andhra Pradesh in the vicinity of Erragadda Metro Station. The operation yielded 23.706 litres of hash oil, estimated to have a market value of approximately Rs. 2.96 crore.

The second enforcement action took place at Road No. 10 in Jubilee Hills, where three alleged drug dealers and two consumers were detained. Officers recovered 1.250 litres of hash oil from the location, valued at roughly Rs. 16 lakh.

Sajjanar characterized narcotics as a grave social threat that undermines the prospects and wellbeing of young people, households, and professional futures. He called upon young citizens to resist the allure of drugs and to reject both addiction and illicit income sources.

In an appeal to the broader community, the former commissioner urged residents to report any information regarding drug trafficking networks or consumption to law enforcement authorities. He stressed that collective action and public cooperation are essential to transforming Hyderabad into a city free from narcotics-related crimes.
