Gangaputra Sangham Pushes for Nominated Positions for Statehood Movement Veterans

Hyderabad: The Telangana Gangaputra Sangham has pressed the State government to appoint members from its community to nominated positions, particularly those who were instrumental in the Telangana movement.

During a meeting held at the Telangana Amarajyothi premises, State secretary T. Rajesh Khanna Gangaputra presented a formal representation to Prof. Kodandaram, a member of the Telangana movement committee and MLC. Khanna argued that such appointments would serve as recognition for the Gangaputra community's role in achieving Statehood.

Khanna highlighted the contributions of two prominent community figures: senior advocate Ambati Srinivas from Warangal and educationist Doli Satyanarayana. Both worked actively in the movement under Prof. Kodandaram's leadership, and Khanna urged the government to consider them for these nominated posts.

Beyond these specific individuals, the Sangham has called on the government to extend similar recognition to other Gangaputra leaders who participated in the Telangana movement. The organization maintains that those who sacrificed and struggled for the State's formation deserve to be represented through nominated positions in governance.
