Cyberabad Police Dismantle Child Trafficking Network, Rescue Toddler

Hyderabad: In a significant operation against child trafficking, Cyberabad Police have rescued a three-year-old girl and dismantled an alleged trafficking network following investigation into a kidnapping reported at Chandanagar Police Station. Three suspects were apprehended before they could allegedly complete the sale of the child in Mahabubnagar district.

The girl's mother, who works as a street vendor, reported her daughter missing on July 16 after the child disappeared near Lingampally Railway Station. Chandanagar Police registered a case immediately and initiated investigations.

The operation, coordinated under the supervision of ACP Ch. Y. Srinivas Kumar, involved special teams conducting sweeping searches across Cyberabad, Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar districts. Inspector S. Vijai from Chandanagar Police Station, Detective Inspector G. Rajesh of Narsingi Police Station and Inspector Bhoopal Goud from CCS, Serilingampally Zone, spearheaded the inquiry.

Investigators employed technical analysis, scientific methods and ground-level operations to locate the accused. The child was recovered safely and all three suspects were arrested before the alleged transaction could occur.

The three arrested individuals are Kothi Srinivas (36), Doma Rama Krishna (23), and Paladhi Navaneetha (31).

The investigation uncovered connections to illegal adoption networks. Police found that Navaneetha was employed as a staff nurse and laboratory technician at a private diagnostic centre in Mahabubnagar. Investigators determined she had established links with couples seeking to obtain infants through illicit channels. Authorities allege she leveraged her position within the healthcare system and her access to information regarding pregnant women and newborns to establish a network of intermediaries engaged in the unlawful procurement and trafficking of infants.

Police are continuing to examine the broader trafficking network and trace financial transactions associated with the operation.
