Hyderabad Police Conduct Cordon and Search Operation in Chatrinaka, Seize Illegal Liquor

Hyderabad City Police executed a comprehensive cordon and search operation in Chatrinaka on Tuesday evening, targeting the illegal liquor trade and verifying individuals and vehicles in the area. The operation was mounted following intelligence about unlicensed liquor distribution activities in the Mekala Mandi locality.

The enforcement drive was overseen by Deputy Commissioner of Police Kiran Khare, IPS, from the Charminar Zone. The operation mobilised substantial police resources, including two Additional Commissioners of Police, nine Circle Inspectors, 13 Sub-Inspectors, and 159 constables. Teams were organised into search, cut-off, lifting, and holding units to systematically cover the neighbourhood.

Police teams conducted methodical searches of residences and scrutinised establishments suspected of involvement in illicit activities. They also checked vehicles and documented individuals found in suspicious circumstances throughout the operation.

The enforcement action resulted in the seizure of 14 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 105 bottles of spirits believed destined for illegal distribution. Authorities indicated that criminal proceedings would be initiated against those found culpable.

Beyond liquor confiscation, officers seized 25 two-wheelers that lacked proper registration documents, placing them under custody for detailed examination. Additionally, two LPG cylinders suspected of unauthorised storage were confiscated during the sweep.

Four individuals were identified and their backgrounds verified as part of the operation. Police stated they would pursue legal remedies in cases where violations were discovered.

The Charminar Zone Police affirmed their commitment to conducting further cordon and search operations in Chatrinaka and similar localities as part of their broader crime prevention and public safety initiatives.
