CapitalXB names Pavan Matai as Business Head to drive growth in receivables and export financing

Mumbai: CapitalXB Finance Pvt Ltd, an RBI-regulated NBFC-Factor holding an AD Category III license, has named Pavan Matai to the position of Business Head as part of its expansion strategy.

The move marks a significant step in CapitalXB's growth trajectory, positioning the firm to scale its financing services across MSMEs, mid-market enterprises and exporters. The appointment is expected to accelerate the company's efforts to forge deeper ties with corporate partners, digital ecosystem players and institutional investors.

In his new role, Matai will oversee business strategy formulation, deal origination, product innovation and partnership development spanning both domestic and international financing operations. His focus will centre on expanding a technology-driven, risk-conscious platform designed to help enterprises access liquidity by leveraging their commercial receivables and trade-related cash flows.

Taranjit Jaswal, Founder and Chief Executive of CapitalXB, highlighted the significance of the appointment: "CapitalXB is at a pivotal stage in its development. We have established the regulatory framework, technological infrastructure and risk management systems needed to tap into a substantial yet underserved market segment in receivables-based financing for Indian enterprises. Pavan's extensive background spanning global banking institutions, non-banking finance companies and technology-driven credit platforms positions him ideally to lead our scaled growth while maintaining disciplined risk management. His expertise will enable us to strengthen client partnerships, cultivate strategic alliances and position CapitalXB as a premier financing partner for growth-oriented Indian businesses."

The appointment arrives as Indian exporters contend with unpredictable global trade conditions, where escalating costs in freight, insurance and financing have intensified demand for swifter and more adaptable working capital solutions.

Matai brings more than twenty years of professional experience across corporate banking, trade finance, supply-chain financing and technology-enabled credit platforms. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions at HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, RBL Bank and L&T Finance, where he developed and expanded financing operations serving large corporations, emerging businesses and small-to-medium enterprises.

His professional exposure spans sectors including steel, automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, clean energy and agribusiness. In recent years, Matai contributed to establishing technology-driven credit businesses serving B2B commerce platforms, including roles at Infra.Market and JSW One Platforms Ltd., where he managed the non-banking finance operations and held board representation before joining CapitalXB.

Speaking about his appointment, Matai commented: "Throughout my career spanning banking, non-banking finance and fintech ventures, I have witnessed how access to timely working capital can transform business growth trajectories. The opportunity becomes particularly compelling when receivables information, supply-chain analytics and trade data can be harnessed to deliver faster, more tailored financing options. CapitalXB has developed a unique platform that merges domestic business finance with export-oriented trade flows. I am eager to collaborate with the team to expand the platform responsibly, strengthen partnerships across the financing ecosystem and enhance the accessibility of receivables-based financing for our clients."
