Air India Express Launches Bhopal Operations With Daily Services to Delhi and Mumbai

Air India Express has expanded into Madhya Pradesh's capital city, Bhopal, launching daily flight services to both Delhi and Mumbai effective August 1, 2026. The addition strengthens the airline's presence in the state, which now encompasses roughly 60 weekly flights distributed across three major airports: Bhopal, Gwalior, and Indore.

The new routes will feature two daily departures between Delhi and Bhopal, complemented by one daily service connecting Mumbai and Bhopal. Passengers travelling from Bhopal will gain access to a broader network offering single-stop connectivity to four international destinations—Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Muscat, and Sharjah—alongside 16 domestic destinations such as Bagdogra, Goa, Guwahati, Jammu, Kerala, and Varanasi through Air India Express' existing route structure.

Flight Schedule (Effective August 1, 2026)

The Delhi-Bhopal route operates with departures from Delhi at 10:40 and 15:05, arriving in Bhopal at 12:05 and 16:30 respectively. Return flights depart Bhopal at 12:45 and 17:10, reaching Delhi at 14:15 and 18:40.

The Mumbai-Bhopal service departs Mumbai at 11:20, arriving at 13:00, with the return journey leaving Bhopal at 13:40 and landing in Mumbai at 15:25.

In a concurrent development, Air India Express has introduced international connectivity from Indore, Madhya Pradesh's commercial hub. The new Indore-Abu Dhabi route commenced operations on July 15, operating three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The airline continues to showcase India's cultural traditions through its Tales of India initiative. Two newly delivered Boeing 737-8 aircraft, registered as VT-BXQ and VT-BXY, feature specially designed liveries celebrating Madhya Pradesh's artistic heritage—one showcasing traditional hand-block printed Bagh patterns, the other highlighting the distinctive handwoven Chanderi textile design.

Air India Express has also recently unveiled three additional international routes: Guwahati-Abu Dhabi, Guwahati-Dubai, and Navi Mumbai-Abu Dhabi. The airline currently operates approximately 500 daily flights serving 43 domestic and 16 international destinations through a fleet exceeding 100 aircraft.
