AIMIM Opposes Gudimalkapur Market Relocation Plan, Cites Impact on 10,000 Families

Hyderabad: The AIMIM has formally appealed to the Telangana government to reconsider its proposal to shift Gudimalkapur's vegetable and flower market to Moinabad, citing severe consequences for thousands of traders and workers.

Following directions from AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, a delegation comprising Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, Nampally MLA Majid Hussain, and the president of the Gudimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market Committee met with Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, IAS. The group presented a formal representation on the official letterhead of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, urging the administration to withdraw the relocation proposal.

The delegation emphasized that the planned shift would negatively impact more than 10,000 families whose survival depends on the market's operations. They argued that relocating the market to Moinabad would create significant economic hardship for these communities.

In parallel efforts to block the proposal, Asaduddin Owaisi held separate discussions with Agriculture, Marketing and Cooperation Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, requesting that the government defer action on the relocation plan.

The opposition underscores growing concerns within the trading community about the government's market reorganization initiative and its potential consequences for vulnerable populations reliant on traditional commercial spaces.
