Abids Police Launch Health Initiative Emphasizing Nutrition and Fitness for Officers

Hyderabad's Abids Police have rolled out a comprehensive nutrition awareness programme aimed at equipping their personnel with knowledge about healthy eating and lifestyle practices essential for maintaining both physical and mental wellness.
Recognising the demanding nature of police work—which requires round-the-clock vigilance to preserve law and order—health experts underscored the necessity of adopting balanced dietary habits and establishing wellness routines. They highlighted how fitness and proper nutrition directly enable officers to meet the rigorous demands of their profession.
The initiative placed particular emphasis on preventive healthcare, encouraging participants to bolster their immune systems through wholesome, nutrient-dense foods. Experts advocated for incorporating fresh fruits and vitamin-rich items into regular meals to enhance energy and overall vitality.
A key focus of the session involved steering personnel away from dietary pitfalls. Speakers advised officers to minimise consumption of junk food, fried items, and processed flour-based products, noting that such choices can significantly improve both physical conditioning and job performance.
Officials stressed that when police personnel maintain good health, they can execute their duties with greater efficiency and dedication. The department has encouraged all staff members to integrate nutritious eating and consistent exercise into their daily schedules.
Dietitian Hema delivered the core nutritional guidance during the programme. The event was attended by Abids ACP Praveen Kumar, Inspector Parashuram, SI Gaurender Goud, SI Sriramulu, and other police station personnel.
