Shiv Nadar University Celebrates 15 Years and Graduates Class of 2026 at Twelfth Convocation

Shiv Nadar University in Greater Noida held its twelfth convocation ceremony on its campus, conferring degrees on the Class of 2026 and commemorating the institution's fifteen-year journey since its establishment. The occasion also coincided with five decades of HCL, underscoring a broader commitment to building institutions in the sectors of education, research and technology.
HCLTech's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, C. Vijayakumar, served as the chief guest for the event. The university presented an Honorary Doctorate to Bharat Ratna Professor C.N.R. Rao in acknowledgement of his significant work in advancing science, research and higher education. Padma Shri Professor K.N. Ganesh, a distinguished guest, accepted the honour on Professor Rao's behalf.
The convocation drew an attendance of more than 3,000 individuals, comprising university trustees, board members, graduating students, their families, academic staff, alumni and other dignitaries.
Accepting the award, Professor K.N. Ganesh addressed the gathering, saying: "As the graduating class steps into a rapidly evolving world, I encourage them to remain curious, embrace uncertainty, and continue asking questions that deepen understanding rather than seek quick answers. Science, knowledge, and innovation have always advanced through perseverance, problem-solving, and the courage to pursue curiosity for its own sake. What truly remains with us after we leave an institution is not only academic learning, but the values, relationships, and spirit of inquiry nurtured along the way. I congratulate the Class of 2026 and hope they move forward with purpose, humility, and an unwavering commitment to learning and contributing meaningfully to society."
Over the past decade and a half, the university has established itself as a prominent multidisciplinary research institution in India. The campus encompasses schools dedicated to engineering, natural sciences, humanities, management and entrepreneurship, fostering an academic culture centred on inquiry, cross-disciplinary collaboration and intellectual rigour. Designated as one of India's youngest Institutions of Eminence, it continues to equip students to navigate a world shaped by technological innovation, scientific advancement and intricate global issues.
Shikhar Malhotra, Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, addressed the graduating cohort, stating: "Today marks a proud milestone for Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, as we celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 during a landmark year for the University. At our university, we hope to have nurtured in our students the ability to think critically, act with empathy, and remain committed to creating meaningful impact. India's future will be shaped by individuals who combine talent with purpose, ambition with integrity, and success with a sense of responsibility towards society. We are immensely proud of the Class of 2026 and look forward to seeing the extraordinary paths they will forge."
The convocation saw the awarding of degrees to 581 undergraduate students, 158 postgraduate students, and 55 doctoral candidates from the School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Management and Entrepreneurship. The university also recognised graduates for outstanding performance in academics, research contributions, leadership roles and participation in campus life.
