Amazon has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (APMSMEDC) to facilitate growth in the state's export sector. The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, targets small business owners, weavers, artisans, and producers seeking to expand their reach into international markets via e-commerce.

The signing ceremony took place at the MSME Growth Summit held in Vijayawada, attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan. The summit brought together more than 1,500 small and medium enterprises from Vijayawada and surrounding districts.

Under the partnership framework, Amazon will organize knowledge-sharing sessions addressing key export topics including global marketplace operations, compliance requirements, logistics management, and sustainable business scaling. The initiative encompasses the development of training programs across Andhra Pradesh to provide on-ground support for enterprises beginning their e-commerce export operations.

The collaboration aims to enable 50,000 or more businesses throughout Andhra Pradesh to enter global markets through a structured program combining knowledge transfer, policy support, seller mobilization, and broader ecosystem development. The partnership will also focus on creating a roadmap for e-commerce exports specific to the state's business landscape.

Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling for India, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting Indian enterprises in building international businesses. "Our collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation is focused on helping businesses across the state understand and access global opportunities through awareness, knowledge sharing, and exporter enablement initiatives," Kalvapudi stated. The executive added that the initiative aligns with Amazon's broader target of facilitating $80 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2030.

Vinod Kumar, President of India SME Forum, characterized the partnership as significant for the state's business community. "This engagement between Amazon Global Selling and the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation marks a pivotal moment for the state's MSME sector," Kumar noted. He highlighted how the agreement would provide enterprises with access to export knowledge, digital resources, and international sales channels to strengthen their competitive position.

Andhra Pradesh's approximately 3.9 million-strong MSME sector positions the state as a strategic focus area within Amazon's broader initiative to expand e-commerce exports from India. The partnership brings together Amazon, APMSMEDC, and the India SME Forum to coordinate policy development and ecosystem support for businesses pursuing international expansion.
