Ramesh and Nidarshana Gowani Mark 25th Anniversary by Solemnizing Weddings of 25 Underprivileged Couples

Philanthropist Nidarshana Gowani, working through the Kamala Trust, has launched an ambitious social welfare programme focused on community development and societal advancement. As part of this commitment, she has orchestrated a mass wedding ceremony bringing together 25 underprivileged and tribal couples in a landmark celebration.
The initiative emerged from a meaningful personal milestone. On reaching their 25th wedding anniversary, Ramesh Gowani and Nidarshana Gowani chose an unconventional path to commemorate the occasion—rather than hosting an elaborate personal celebration, they redirected their efforts toward providing a transformative experience for those in need.
Branded as "Kanya Sneh Bandhan," the grand ceremony represents one of Maharashtra's most significant mass wedding events. The couple ensured comprehensive support for all participants, spanning wedding attire, cosmetic services, jewellery for the brides, cycles for the grooms, travel luggage, and an elaborate dinner reception. Beyond the ceremonial aspects, the Gowanis extended substantial assistance to help the newly married couples establish themselves, equipping them with resources and skills necessary for employment generation and economic independence.
"This year, instead of organizing a conventional celebration, we decided to create a lavish wedding experience for 25 couples who have long dreamed of such an occasion," Nidarshana Gowani explained. "We have treated every bride as our own daughter, arranging everything from their clothing and grooming to household essentials, jewellery, and special gifts. Our commitment extends beyond the wedding day—we have provided them with the means to become self-reliant and economically independent."
She further emphasized the philosophical underpinning of their approach: "While many possess financial resources, what truly matters is how we utilize them for the welfare of others. Rather than squandering money on frivolous pursuits, there is genuine fulfillment in bringing joy to someone's life."
The ceremony attracted prominent dignitaries and public figures, including Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Maharashtra; Manoj Tiwari, Member of Lok Sabha; Gulam Ali Khatana and Chunnilal Garasiya, Members of Rajya Sabha; Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra's Minister of Cultural Affairs; Baby Rani Maurya, Uttar Pradesh's Minister of Women's Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition; Rahul Narwekar and Sanjay Upadhyay, Members of Maharashtra's Legislative Assembly; Madhavi Latha, an Indian politician; Ram Lal, National Coordinator of RSS; Suresh Jain, National Organizing Secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad; spiritual leader Renuka Goswami; and actors Jackie Shroff and Vishal Jethwa.
Gowani expressed her vision for expanding this initiative. "We intend to continue organizing such mass wedding ceremonies in the future. Having a grand wedding is a cherished aspiration for many underprivileged youth, and we are committed to fulfilling this dream. I urge everyone to participate in such social endeavours and contribute to uplifting society."
Nidarshana Gowani holds the distinction of being the first female Vice President of Bharat Vikas Parishad and has consistently been at the forefront of community service initiatives.
