Honda Cars India Ltd. has unveiled the redesigned Honda City and introduced the all-new ZR-V e:HEV hybrid SUV to the Indian market, marking significant developments for the Japanese automaker in India.

The dual launch represents what Honda describes as "Two Sporty Icons" tailored for customers prioritizing premium aesthetics, dynamic performance, cutting-edge technology, and refined driving comfort.

The refreshed Honda City maintains its storied reputation while incorporating enhanced sporty styling elements and contemporary design features. The model will be offered in both conventional petrol and e:HEV Strong Hybrid powertrains, providing buyers with options ranging from traditional combustion engines to electrified mobility solutions.

The ZR-V e:HEV marks Honda's entry into a new segment for the Indian market. The vehicle features the company's 2.0-litre e:HEV Sports Hybrid powertrain and positions itself as a premium offering in the hybrid SUV category. Globally, the ZR-V has demonstrated strong commercial performance, accumulating over 8 lakh units in sales since its 2022 introduction. The SUV is recognized internationally for its distinctive styling, performance capabilities, fuel economy, and build quality.

Honda's leadership outlined the strategic importance of these launches for the company's expansion trajectory. Takashi Nakajima, President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., characterized the announcement as the beginning of an accelerated growth phase for the firm in India, which ranks among Honda's top three priority markets globally.

Nakajima noted that the company anticipates six strategic product launches throughout the year as part of efforts to strengthen market positioning and achieve cost competitiveness. He emphasized that the new City and ZR-V introductions underscore Honda's commitment to delivering sporty, premium, technologically sophisticated vehicles to Indian consumers, with several additional model launches planned as the company pursues its growth objectives in the region.
